Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit Installation - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Hey, everybody. How's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit here on your 2020 Ford Escape. So, a brake-lite relay kit is gonna be required for most vehicles that have separate brake and turn signals like our Ford Escape. Now, essentially, what this kit does is it's gonna prevent the brakes in our towed vehicle from overriding the turn signals coming from our motor home. So it is an important part of our setup in order to remain legal and safe going down the road. So in regards to actual operation, or activation rather, it's gonna be triggered from turning the running lights on in our motorhome. more

Today, we are going to be working on a 2018 Ford Focus. We're going to be taking a look at, and I'll be showing you how to install Roadmaster's stoplight switch. Our stoplight switch is going to send a signal to our indicator light or our Coachlink system, in this case, letting us know that the brakes are being applied, and how this works is there's a little plunger that hits the brake pedal arm and that's compressed whenever it's touching the arm. When that brake pedal pushes down that plunger extends sending the signal. more

Demco SBS Air Force One Supplemental Braking System Installation - 2012 Ford F-150- Video
Hi there Ford owners. Today on your 2012 Ford F-150, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Demco's Air Force One. And this is what our braking system looks like when it's installed. The operating unit here takes air from the air brake system on your motor home, and is used to send it out to an actuator located on the pedal inside, and it will proportionately apply the brake pedal in your vehicle as you press the brakes in your motor home, helping you come to a seamless, smooth stop. And you can see here where our air hoses connects to our motor home. There is a tank and some fittings that we tap into on the motor home side that allows us to get that pressure from the brake system when we press the brakes. more

Today on our 2018 Ford Edge you're gonna be taking a look at, I'm gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit. To install our stop light switch, it's a little bit hard to see, um, up underneath our dash, so I'm gonna kind of explain it here. This is going to be our switch. We're gonna have two wires that come off of it. Uh, we're gonna have to run both of them out through the grommet and the firewall, so what I did is I used the airline tube for my breaking system when I was installing it to push that lines through there. You're gonna have a red and a green wire that come in your kit. more

When flat towing your F-150, the brake light relay is needed to ensure that your turn signal is not overridden by your Brake-Lite signal. It does not interfere with your F-150's electrical system and it activates automatically so there is nothing you need to do once it is installed. And speaking of installation, let's go through it now.To start our installation, we want to pull down our dash panel. We have our tow bar, our base plate, our trailer wiring, our safety cables. Now you might be asking yourself, "Why do I need this" Or, "Is it required" Well, actually, most States do require you to have a supplemental braking system. And the reason that is, is if your vehicle does happen to become detached from your RV, it'll apply the brakes in your vehicle, bringing it to a safe stop.The only visible part of our braking system on the outside of our vehicle is going to be our breakaway switch here and that's what initiates the brakes to be pressed if it does come detached. more

Now probably my absolute favorite thing about the setup is how easy it's going to be to use whenever you're ready to flat tow. There's really hardly anything to it at all. So once you have your tow bar and your cables all hooked up, all you're going to have to do is take the braking system tether here and put it around the breakaway switch. And then you just hop inside the Explorer, come down here to your G-Force controller and flip that switch into the on position. more

Shane: Hi I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today I'm going to walk with you how I installed the Brake Buddy Select 3 portable supplemental braking system on your 2017 Ford Edge. A braking system is going to be required by law in any vehicle being flat-towed. It's going to be one of the main components to getting your vehicle set up to be flat towed behind your RV. The difference between a portable system or transferable system and a permanent install is a permanent install is going to stay on the vehicle. With the portable transferable system, if you decide to buy another car, that system can be taken and used in that other car once it's set up to be flat-towed.This is what our Brake Buddy is going to look like when it's installed on our vehicle, it's going to sit in the driver's side floorboard, it's going to attach to our brake pedal with a clamp. more

Now, keep in mind, this is going to be one of six main components needed to inaudible 00:00:16 your Ranger. All of them are going to include your base plate, your tow bar, your tow bar wiring, your safety cables, your braking system, and your brake light relay.The reason we're going to need a brake light relay is simple. Whenever we're flat towing our ranger behind our motor home, and say in our motor home, we have a turn signal on and the brakes applied at the same time, here on the back of the Ranger, it would just be the brake lights illuminated, and that's obviously what we don't want. We would want one brake light to illuminate and one of our turn signals to be flashing, matching the back of our motor home.Well, that's what the brake light relay is going to allow us to do. more

Hi there, Focus owners. Today we're going to be taking a look at the best flat tow options for your 2014 Ford Focus. There's five main components you'll need to flat tow your Focus. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection point between your motor home and your vehicle, your baseplate, which provides the connection point where you'll attach your tow bar to your vehicle, your safety cables, which is a supplementary connection between the two, your diode wiring, which takes all of the lighting signals from your motor home and transfers them to your vehicles, people behind you will know your intentions, and your braking system on your vehicle, which will assist it braking in addition to your motor home so you can come to a safe stop.Now additionally on your Focus, you will need a battery disconnect switch as to get it into tow mode. You do have to disconnect the battery, but you're going to need a power supply for your braking system, so a battery disconnect will allow you to have that power for your braking system and disconnect the rest of the vehicle so you can flat tow it properly.For our tow bar, we're using Roadmaster's Falcon 2. This is a perfectly fine tow bar for your Focus. more
